The Beginning2023-09-26T22:09:15+00:00

InVivo Partners Ltd was conceived in late 2008 by Ngozi Edozien. InVivo Partners Limited builds on her career foundations in corporate finance, strategy consulting and operational management. Add to that, ground-breaking work to develop the first African Healthcare Fund, subsequent experience leading the West Africa Team of an emerging markets focused private equity team and years of experience as a non-executive director on boards of private and listed companies and you have the basis for InVivo. In 2008, InVivo formally commenced its strategy support, advisory, and investment/portfolio management approach with Paga, a startup whose mission was to tackle the payments challenge in Nigeria and continues making an impact in the sector today.

In 2008, InVivo formally commenced its strategy support, advisory, and investment/portfolio management approach with Paga, a startup whose mission was to tackle the payments challenge in Nigeria and continues making an impact in the sector today.

In addition to Paga, Ms Edozien has successfully led projects independently and in partnership with other ex-McKinsey consultants for UBA, Etisalat (now 9mobile), Global Energy Company (GEC) and the International Finance Corporation (IFC). InVivo was put on hold in mid-2009 when Ms Edozien was contacted to head the West Africa business of Actis Capital LLP.

Early 20142023-09-26T22:15:33+00:00

At Actis she honed her competence in Board Governance as a private equity shareholder in listed and private companies with emphasis on transforming, institutionalizing and driving the growth of these listed and private entities.

While serving at Actis she sat on boards of Consumer Goods, Financial Services, and Oil and Gas Assets held by Actis but also on the Board of a UK FTSE 100 independent from her Actis role. The Boards on which she sat had operations and or were headquartered in Nigeria, UK and the Netherlands. She served on Audit, Risk, Sustainability, Strategy, Credit and Governance Committees. She was a key actor in the usual board activities but also participated actively in capital raises, integrations and divestments.

2014 – Present2023-09-26T22:23:26+00:00

Ms. Edozien’s work at Actis solidified her belief in the need for a Firm with international exposure and world-class capability to support the growth of both large and small businesses on the continent and in particular to enhance governance in listed and privately held businesses on the continent.

Therefore, on leaving Actis Ms Edozien pursued the work that she had commenced with InVivo on consulting, investments and governance and further built her capabilities in governance by participating on the Boards of listed companies on the FTSE 50, JSE and NSE. She supplemented those experiences with coursework in Governance at Harvard Business School, INSEAD, Cambridge University and IMD. Most importantly, InVivo began to build partnerships with others to strengthen its delivery capabilities. The Firm expanded to include further to include two additional principals, Mr. Louis Edozien and Mr. Sola Mahoney. InVivo has since 2014 concluded several consulting mandates and transactions independently and in collaboration with its partners.
